High production costs are affecting operations of media houses in the country, the permanent secretary in the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Mr Nick Mangwana has said.
Mr Mangwana said this when he appeared before the Portfolio Committee on Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services on the state of the media environment in the country this morning.
Mr Mangwana said high costs of newsprint, electricity and fuel, among others, were impacting negatively on media houses.
He said Government had proposed that media houses pool resources for procuring some of their requirements, to cut costs.
